How to Decorate a Coffee Table

So what are the rules for accessorizing coffee tables?  I say that the rule is whatever makes you happy, but if you are seeking that “decorator look”, there are a few tips to consider.

Do a grouping of high, medium, and low height items.  Like in all areas of your décor, vary the texture of those items.  Greenery or fresh flowers are always great!  It may not be realistic to keep fresh flowers on a daily basis, but it is a good idea for special occasions.

Trays are a current decorating trend.  Contain some items of varying heights and textures inside a tray.  Also, try placing the tray diagonally.

Most importantly, choose items you love that have meaning to you and your family.  Keep in mind that a coffee table is usually a center of a conversation area, so you don’t want items too tall that they block your view.

Have fun with it, and change out what you have on your coffee table from time to time or season to season.
